Use NetObjects Fusion page templates as a professionally designed starting point for a single page, section of pages, or form. You can insert a page template in an existing site, or you can create a new site based on a page template. After inserting the template, you can modify the layout and design to fit your needs.
NetObjects Fusion provides two types of page templates:
- Templates
A large selection of pages for specific purposes such as billing and order forms, personal home page, calendar for the month, and more. Some of these page templates contain more than one page, such as the office directory, which contains a map and pages for sections of the country. These page templates are named for their function. When you import one of these pages, the page icon in Site view shows the page template name. The “Templates” section below provides a brief description of each NetObjects Fusion specific-purpose page template.
- Grids
Standard page grids containing one, two, three, and four columns, with picture placeholders in various sizes and shapes across one or more columns. These page grids have descriptive names like 2 Column - 1 Picture A. When you import one of these standard layout templates, the page icon in Site view shows the name "Layout."
Create a new site to import and test page templates, so your working site does not accumulate all the MasterBorders that are imported with each page template.

Note: Form-based templates do not work unless your internet service supports CGI scripts, and the settings for the Submit and Clear buttons are properly configured.
GRIDS
If none of the specific-purpose page templates meets your needs, you can still get a head start on page design by using a layout grid page template. Each one includes text fields and picture placeholders already aligned with a standard grid, ready for you to simply import text and choose images.
Use fewer columns at higher levels of your site, to present general material. Use more columns with smaller type at lower levels for detailed information such as product briefs and catalogs. On a multi-column page, heads at the top of each column let your visitor browse all the page's topics without scrolling.
The following table provides a brief description of each NetObjects Fusion layout grid page template. Import a layout template to see whether it suits your needs. |
