NetObjects Fusion can have problems publishing through to a “Proxy Server”, which is to say a server URL which is actually being forwarded to another server (if you have a URL through your Internet Service Provider, this is often the case).
There is a program called “SocksCap”, distributed by NEC which can help NOF publish to a Proxy Server. The file may be downloaded free of charge from their site.
Once the program is downloaded and installed:
- Run SocksCap
- Select “Setup” From the “File” menu
- Add a new Application Profile for NetObjects Fusion
- When you publish your site in NOF, make sure to use Passive Mode
(To activate Passive Mode, click “Setup” in the Publish View, Click on the “Server Locations” tab and double-click the server location you are using. Click the “Advanced” button, then check the checkbox labelled “Connect passive (PASV) mode”)
Please note that this may not work with *all* proxy servers - it’s known to not work properly with the MS Proxy Server.
