Before proceeding, it is important to decide what level of password protection is needed. Below are the two options available.Click on the desired option to see the step-by-step instructions.

1. Password protect the page that contains the Message Board icon (which launches the BBS).
   Caveat:  Viewers may be able to guess the path to the actual message board page and therefore be able to post messages.
   
   OR:
    
2. Click on the Message Board icon, and then prompt the user for a password before launching the BBS.
   Caveat: This method is NOT SUPPORTED by NetObjects as it involves manually editing the generated HTML code.
   Advantage: Only those viewers who have the correct password will be allowed to view the Message Board path. Even if the viewers knows the path to the page, a password prompt will occur each and every time the page is accessed.
