Clean Install

There are some situations in which you may want to see about making what is called a “Clean Install” of NetObjects Fusion - this can be the case if, say, you have to reinstall Windows for some reason (like a bad hard drive, etc).

Thanks to Art Harms, of NetObjects Team Fusion Support, here is a procedure for doing this:

Note: You should not attempt this if you are not familiar with RegEdit (Registry Editor).  NetObjects will not be responsible for mishaps that occur while you are in RegEdit.

In NetObjects Fusion, make Templates of your site files:

    • Open the site in NOF
    • Go to the Site View
    • Select “Export as Template” from the “File” menu
    • Also, make backups of any customized Site Styles you have made.
  • Delete the “NetObjects Fusion” folder
  • Click on the “Start” button and select “Run”
  • Enter “REGEDIT” into the “Run” window and click “Run”
  • In REGEDIT, find this key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Net Objects

  • Highlight “NetObjects” in the left hand window and press the Delete key. You will need to confirm this delete.
  • Now locate this key in REGEDIT:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Ne tObjects

  • Highlight “NetObjects” in the left hand window and press the Delete key. You will need to confirm this delete as well.
  • You are now ready to reinstall NOF from the CD.
