About Our Winner Stuart Melvin, Webmaster of Priory Travel Guides, and Gillian Stubbs, his partner, have visited all of the countries covered by the site, and shot all of the photographs themselves. The site was initially created out of sheer enthusiasm for travel, and to encourage others to consider traveling to some of the more offbeat destinations.
The initial site, Stuart says, consisted of just a couple pages describing a trip they had made to Namibia; it took only a few evenings of work to put together. Stuart said he was surprised that he could create “
something in only a few hours without having any previous knowledge of designing and building Web sites.” Encouraged by the experience, he decided to create an improved site with a more professional look. The site now forms a constant source of activity and receives regular attention.
