Berggruen.com, One of the Most Prestigious Art Galleries in San Francisco
 Each month NetObjects recognizes the most outstanding Web site created with NetObjects Fusion. We present the winner with our Site of the Month Award as well as many other prizes. We selected the Web site for the John Berggruen Gallery for many reasons. The site is beautiful, direct, concise, and complete. Just about everything you want to know about the gallery is a click away. Here are some of the many, many reasons we like Berggruen.com:
- Presentation! The site magnificently presents its featured artists using a simple layout and minimal color and graphics.
- The site is so-o-o-o easy to navigate—not only does it provide a clean table of contents, but it includes a brilliant button bar with rollover text that makes it clear where the buttons take you. On the top right you’ll always find their Site Map button, which takes you directly to their table of contents.
- Fast loading, especially for a site that requires a Flash plug-in and several graphics.
- Thumbnails provide glimpses of the artists´ works.
- You know exactly where to go right away—because the business address is right on the first page—plus the site includes driving directions to the gallery from every direction in the Bay Area.
- Want to know more? You’ll find detailed information on both the history of the gallery and its artists. Other information identifies art fairs where the gallery will be showing their work.
- You can email any staff member by clicking on his or her name. Or if you’d rather fill out a form, they provide forms for both buyers and sellers. Talk about customer service!
- They took advantage of NetObjects feature for adding your own HTML by adding some cool JavaScript code for special effects.

About Our Winner
John Berggruen is a highly respected art dealer and exhibitor of contemporary 20th-century American and European drawings, prints, paintings, and sculpture, as well as 19th- and 20th-century Mexican and Latin-American paintings. The John Berggruen Gallery is located in San Francisco.

“The site for the John Berggruen Gallery was initially an experiment. After it was completed, it really shone as an example of how a gallery site can look and communicate with the public. I wanted people to be able to cut and paste from the site. I’m proud that it turned out to be the site that other galleries are referencing for ideas on developing their sites. It was because of NetObjects Fusion that we were able to achieve this.”

“We developed this site in five months. The first four months were spent gathering the photographs and content from the gallery. With NetObjects Fusion, we were actually able to create the site itself in just two weeks.
“There was no way I could have done this with any other program. I love the FTP functionality that allows me to upload one page at a time, especially since we built the site one section at a time.
“It was cool that the Fusion site map was an exact copy of the flowcharts we built to design the site. It takes a lot of the effort out of storyboarding.”
