Exporting Connection Credentials

When you create a site backup in the Backup Manager, NetObjects Fusion 12 automatically creates a connection credentials file (.nfc file) that other NetObjects Fusion 12 clients can use to connect to the Backup Manager. When NetObjects Fusion 12 clients open the .nfc file, they are connected to the Backup Manager, from which they will check out a working copy of the site. The site will be marked "in use" while the other client is working on it. The .nfc file also contains the site's publish profile settings so that other clients can easily publish changes to the Web without having to enter publish settings.

  1. To export an .nfc file, choose Backup Manager from the File menu.

The Backup Manager dialog appears.

  1. Click the name of the backup you want to export from the Name column.

  2. Click Export Connection Credentials.

Only Backup Managers that utilize a remote profile can export their Connection Credentials.

The Save As dialog appears.

  1. In the Save in drop-down list box, select a location on your hard disk in which to save the .nfc file.

  2. Enter a name for the .nfc file in the File name field.

  3. Click Save to save the file to the location you specified.

You can retrieve the .nfc file and distribute it to your clients who use NetObjects Fusion 12.

When NetObjects Fusion 12 users open the .nfc file, they will be connected to the Backup Manager repository from which they will retrieve the website for editing.
