Redwood City, Calif., June 24, 1999 - NetObjects, Inc. (NASDAQ:NETO) today announced that its professional services division is working in association with Lotus Development Corp. and the Technology Services division of IKON Office Solutions, a leading office technology company, to deliver custom intranet solutions and consulting services based on NetObjects and Lotus products.
As enterprises strive to streamline business processes, many are seeking end-to-end self-service based intranet solutions. To meet this growing need, NetObjects will provide NetObjects Authoring Server Suite, its award winning intranet and enterprise portal building product, design and consulting services, as well as training services; Lotus will provide its Domino Application Server R5, the industry's best platform for developing and deploying collaborative, e-Business applications; and IKON, a Lotus premium business partner, will offer consulting expertise in Domino application development and enterprise integration.
"NetObjects has consistently offered Lotus Domino customers powerful, integrated solutions, and we are very excited to further enhance our professional services offerings with the expertise of an industry leader like IKON Office Solutions,” said Morris Taradalsky, NetObjects executive vice president of server products and professional services.
Under an agreement, NetObjects and IKON Office Solutions have already worked together on a number of successful projects including implementing a sophisticated intranet/extranet application for Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc. (TAEC). By integrating NetObjects technology with that of TAEC's existing Lotus Domino based systems, the companies helped Toshiba design and implement a comprehensive corporate system that provides lasting benefits and a significant return on investment. “Using NetObjects products with Domino not only saved time and money during development but also provided TAEC with a solution that streamlined business processes and increased end user satisfaction,” said Jim Holtman, Director of Information Systems at TAEC. “We estimate that the improved process automation alone has the potential to pay for itself within six to twelve months.”
"We look forward to combining the strengths of NetObjects, the leading provider of e-Business site building software, with the consulting and training expertise of IKON Office Solutions, to offer Lotus Domino customers best of breed solutions to create and deploy Intranet applications," said Dale Winson, President of Technology Services in Southern California for IKON Office Solutions.
"The need for truly effective and dynamic intranets and extranets continues to grow at an exponential rate," said Michele Deziel, GM of Web Applications, Lotus Development Corp. “We're pleased that IKON and NetObjects are able to facilitate the development of these powerful solutions by leveraging our customers existing investments in the Domino Application Server by integrating their legacy data into innovative e-business applications.”
