IBM Global Services Selects NetObjects Matrix NetObjects Matrix brings low-cost, customized Web services to IBM customers.
Redwood City, Calif., June 11, 2001—NetObjects (NASDAQ: NETO) today announced that IBM Global Services has selected NetObjects Matrix to power a new Web Services project that is now being piloted and may be unveiled later this year. Announced last week, NetObjects Matrix is a next-generation platform that allows various Web Services to integrate seamlessly into the Web site building and hosting process.
“After evaluating various technologies, we determined that NetObjects Matrix gives us the greatest flexibility to customize solutions and produce superior results for our customers,” said Jake Moore, senior product manager, IBM. “We see tremendous opportunity in the remarketing of this platform.”
The IBM project that is based on NetObjects Matrix technology is aimed at helping smaller, less technically sophisticated and budget-strapped organizations get online. IBM and NetObjects will provide Web site applications and services that are already packaged and integrated to meet the needs of these organizations.
NetObjects Matrix offers an open platform that makes it easy for IBM to integrate current and potential future partner technologies into an IBM branded service. Core features include a customized wizard to help new users create a professional-quality Web site in minutes, the first online WYSIWYG Web Builder application, and a suite of integrated third-party services to complete the user’s solution.
“NetObjects has built the most advanced e-business platform in the world for small organizations,” said Samir Arora, chairman and CEO of NetObjects, Inc. “Our partner strategy is helping more end-users get their hands on our products. We look forward to supporting IBM in its initiatives and rolling out more solutions like this over the next few quarters.”
Companies such as IBM, telecommunication carriers, ISPs, and Web hosting companies who are providing Web applications and services to their customers can choose NetObjects Matrix to power their e-business suites. The NetObjects Matrix Platform offers partners a quick and easy solution to bundle integrated value-added Web Services into a solution mix that is right for their customer base.
