Redwood City, Calif., June 1, 1999 – NetObjects, Inc. (NASDAQ:NETO) announced today that Thomas Cook, one of the world's leading international travel and financial services groups, selected NetObjects Authoring Server Suite for the creation and management of their corporate intranet.
Launched in September 1998, the Thomas Cook intranet (TCNet) is being developed to be the solution for global communications, corporate knowledge, business solutions and the future development of e-business solutions for all of Thomas Cook. Built on the solid foundation of NetObjects Authoring Server Suite, TCNet already serves over 900 employees and aims to reach 2000 users by year end.
“We needed a powerful intranet creation solution that would continue to grow and evolve as TCNet expands,” said Clare Mapes, Intranet Service Manager of Thomas Cook. “NetObjects Authoring Server Suite helps us to encourage various departments to get involved with their own sites, while enabling us to manage the delicate task of supervising the process.”
Leveraging the controlled collaborative site building environment of NetObjects Authoring Server Suite, the intranet team for Thomas Cook was able to implement a standard look and feel, which helped to keep TCNet well organized and easy to navigate for site visitors. As more departments take on site building responsibilities, the intranet team will continue to use NetObjects Authoring Server Suite to assign appropriate roles and responsibilities to the various team members.
“Customers such as Thomas Cook help to validate our commitment to provide the means for corporations to streamline the collaborative site building process, making the headaches, commonly associated with dispersed site building, a thing of the past,” said Morris Taradalsky, executive vice president of server products and professional services at NetObjects.
