Samir AroraSamir Arora
Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer
Samir Arora has served as NetObjects, Inc. Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer, and President since its inception in November 1995. In 1992, Mr. Arora founded Rae Technology, a provider of software applications, and from 1992 through 1995 served as its CEO. From 1986 to 1992, Mr. Arora served in several management roles at Apple Computer, Inc. Mr. Arora holds a diploma in sales and marketing from the London Business School and attended INSEAD, France and BITS, India.

Ernest CicognaErnest Cicogna
Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President, Finance and Operations
Ernie Cicogna joined the company from IBM in 1997. He brings over 30 years experience managing financial and planning organizations for both NetObjects and IBM. His broad management and financial background spans from traditional corporate organizations to highly diverse startup situations, and includes over 13 years on foreign assignment in both Asia and Europe. He was instrumental in helping to bring NetObjects through its successful Initial Public Offering in May of 1999. He is involved in all aspects of the business operations at NetObjects, and plays an integral role in business development and contract negotiations. Cicogna holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the City University of New York and an MBA from Baruch School of Business.

Mark PattonMark Patton
Executive Vice President and General Manager, Products and Services
Mark Patton joined NetObjects in December 1996 and is currently serving as Executive Vice President and General Manager, Products and Services. From 1995 to 1996, Mr. Patton was Vice President and General Manager of the Digital and Applied Imaging Division at Eastman Kodak, Inc. From 1994 to 1995, Mr. Patton was Vice President and General Manager, American Division at Logitech, Inc., a computer peripheral products manufacturer. From 1985 to 1994, Mr. Patton held various sales management positions at Apple Computer. Mr. Patton holds a bachelor's degree in Speech Communication from the University of Washington.

Jack RotoloJack Rotolo
Executive Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing
Jack Rotolo joined NetObjects in 1997 with more than 17 years experience in sales and channel marketing. He is currently responsible for worldwide sales of NetObjects products and services. Prior to joining NetObjects, Mr. Rotolo was Senior Manager of Apple Computer's consumer market's solution development organization. While at Apple, Mr. Rotolo also managed the business, consumer, and higher education channel strategy organization, and held various sales management positions in the reseller operations group. Before joining Apple, Mr. Rotolo worked as Regional Manager for Pepsi-Cola Bottling Group where he was responsible for on-premise, vending, and special events sales and operations. Mr. Rotolo holds a bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of Dayton.

Arun Anantharaman
Vice President, Product Development
As engineering visionary for NetObjects, Arun's key focus is to ensure tight integration of the NetObjects Matrix platform with the goals of our partners. As managing engineer and co-founder of Rocktide, Inc., with over seven years experience in the in the Internet space, Anatharaman has held engineering leadership positions in both the enterprise and desktop product groups. As the Director of Server Products, he was one of the architects of the highly successful NetObjects Authoring Server products. He has also held senior engineering and management positions at Adobe, General Magic and Taligent.

Anantharaman holds a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology in Madras, India, with graduate work in Computer Engineering at North Carolina State University. He also holds an MBA from San Jose State University.

Jeet Kaul
Vice President, Global Services
Jeet has over 14 years experience in the computer industry, seven of which are in the Internet space. He is currently focusing on deploying the NetObjects Matrix platform and third-party Web Service integration. He played a visionary role in developing the platform and guiding the direction of the product from its inception. A successful entreprenuer, Kaul was most recently the CEO and co-founder of Rocktide, Inc., which NetObjects acquired in July 2000. Prior to founding Rocktide, Kaul was the Chief Architect at BeyondNews, which was purchased by Inktomi for $90 million in 1999.

Kaul's technical experience includes leadership positions at Sun Microsystems, where he was responsible for delivery of the font architecture for Java2D. At Apple Computer, Kaul helped lead typography initiatives, moving the Apple font platform onto multiple operating systems. He also served as the VP of engineering at Rae Technology, where he was responsible for shipping several products, including Rae Assist, noted for its innovative information-based architecture -- technology on which NetObjects' first product was based.

Jeet holds a Bachelor of Engineering with Honors from Birla Institute of Technology, India. He received an Masters of Science in Computer Engineering from Rice University, Houston.

Jim Calhoun
Vice President, Product Management and Marketing
Jim leads product management, product marketing, and customer support for NetObjects. He brings a decade of direct Internet and software industry expertise to the company, with a career marked by roles of increasing responsibility and successful product launches.

Prior to joining NetObjects, Calhoun founded PopularDemand, Inc, a venture-backed start-up offering customer relationship management services to small business online. Earlier in his career, Calhoun headed up the development of NetObjects' first enterprise product, leading the development of a content management solution for team-based Web publishing.

Calhoun has advised and consulted leading high-tech companies including Adobe, Siebel, Icarian, 2Bridge, Kinecta, and others. He holds a degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri, starting his career in public relations and working as a reviews editor for CNET in San Francisco.

Mary O’Byrne
Vice President and General Counsel
Mary joined NetObjects in June of 2000 and has 16 years of legal experience primarily representing high technology companies in Silicon Valley. She joined NetObjects from Amdahl Corporation, where she worked as Senior Counsel handling a large variety of computer and software related contracts, disputes, and HR issues for both Amdahl, and its subsidiary, DMR Consulting Group. In addition to handling all legal affairs for NetObjects, Mary works with our Sales and Product groups to draft Service Provider contracts and manage Business Development deals from a legal point of view. Mary graduated from the University of California-Hastings College of the Law in 1985 and the University of Illinois where she majored in English Literature.

Diane Tapscott
Vice President, Marketing
Diane is responsible for NetObjects corporate marketing activities. She leads branding, marketing communications, Internet and direct marketing, corporate Web site development, packaging, and public relations. Since joining NetObjects in 1996, she has helped define and deliver strategic vision through appropriate, well-crafted creative execution. Tapscott brings over 20 years of project management and marketing experience to this position, including over 10 years successfully launching products in Europe and Japan for leading technology companies, including Atari, Apple, and Adobe.

Tapscott started her career in publishing at Sunset Magazine and Books. She holds a B.S. from Syracuse University, New York.

Matthew J. Nee
Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Operations
Matt brings over 19 years of experience in the Internet and high-technology software space. Originally trained as an engineer with Gulf Oil, Nee went on to hold positions in field support, product management, consulting and sales. His most recent position was as the Vice President of North American Sales at Powersoft Corporation, a division of Sybase. Nee's current responsibilities are for the sales of NetObjects Matrix worldwide. He holds an MBA in Finance, a BSME and is a Licensed Professional Engineer.

Boris Pfeiffer
Vice President, Sales and Professional Services - Europe, Middle East, and Africa
Boris joined NetObjects in 1998 with eight years experience in sales and consulting in the IT industry. Pfeiffer has founded two companies and brings a wide range of experience from working in large corporations to managing a diverse start-up team at NetObjects. He is currently responsible for sales of NetObjects products and services in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Prior to joining NetObjects, Pfeiffer was co-founder and General Manager of Innoserv GmbH and Innoserve Ltd. While at Innoserv, Boris successfully established his company as a leading partner for Sterling Commerce providing EDI services to European Fortune 100 companies and providing development and consulting services to leading banks, insurance companies, and Telco’s in Germany. Before starting Innoserv, Pfeiffer worked as a banker and later as an IT Consultant for Societe Generale. Pfeiffer holds an undergraduate degree in Business Management from Saarbruecken University and a bankers diploma from the Frankfurt Chamber of Commerce.

Dominic "Buzz" Renda, Jr.
Vice President, North American Sales
With over 10 years of experience in the industry, Buzz spearheads the sales of NetObjects on-line, desktop, and platform solutions. Renda has been instrumental in securing relationships with strategic NetObjects partners and clients including: 3Com, Bank of America, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Boeing, CNET, IBM, Hitachi, Intel, Honeywell, Lotus, Lucent, Motorola, National Semiconductor, Phillips, Toshiba, Mitsubishi, Southern California Edison, Sprint, and many more. Prior to his current position, Renda headed up NetObjects Enterprise Sales and NetObjects Evangelism.

Prior to joining NetObjects, Renda founded Media Buzz, a professional services firm providing Web strategy, design, branding, and technology consulting. Renda holds a Bachelors of Art degree from California State University, Long Beach with a concentration in user experience design.
